Some users have tried uninstalling potentially problematic drivers, reinstalling the Wacom drivers, and trying their luck with past versions, yet nothing much worked. Reboot one more time, to be sure everything is working as. If it does, success! Now go to the Startup Disk in System Preferences and set the NEW SSD to be your startup drive. When done, restart again, and invoke the Startup Manager as you did above in Step 4. #1 One thing many people recommend either swapping the internal HDD with an SSD, or if that cannot be done, to use external SSD to boot the OS from. Once in Recovery mode, use Disk Utility to wipe the main hard. Boot macOS into Recovery mode (start up your Mac and hold down the Command and R keys until you see an Apple logo or spinning globe). Mac os cant start from ssd with two drives. Type diskutil resetFusion in the Terminal window, then press Return. When you see the macOS Utilities window, choose Utilities Terminal from the menu bar. Release the keys when you see the Apple logo or spinning globe. Turn on your Mac, then immediately press and hold Command-R to start up from macOS Recovery.
As for the drawbacks, a clone requires more space since the partitions are created immediately on the targeted disk. The duplicated system drive which includes the operating system can be mounted as a fresh drive and booted right away.
